Dogs Welcome
We’re a dog friendly attraction in North Yorkshire. Well behaved dogs on a lead are permitted across the museum, including the display huts and a designated area in our café.
There are plenty of grassy areas around site but we ask that you clean up after your pooches.
Adventure Play Area
Eden Camp is family run for family fun!
You can check out our brand new Eco friendly Prisoner of War Exercise Compound suited to children 5-12 years. Watch from the guard tower, sneak through the escape tunnel or zoom down the slide; there are lots of obstacles to keep you fighting fit! And for the little ones, aged 5 and under, we’ve rebuilt our junior play area complete with a tunnel slide, assault course, basket swing and plenty of space to enjoy eating outdoors in the sunshine!
Please note: dogs are not allowed in the play areas. During wet weather the play areas will be closed for safety reasons, please call on the day of your visit for confirmation.
Food & Picnic Areas
We’re proud to serve freshly prepared food using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, with a menu packed with delicious snacks, light bites, hot and cold drinks, and tempting treats.
In addition to our café facilities, we offer a vast amount of outdoor seating with picnic benches and grassed areas.
Accessibility
Eden Camp is all on one level, so you can explore without steps or lifts. Manual wheelchairs are free to borrow, just pre-book before your visit. Braille sheets are available at reception, and parking for disabled visitors is available, so please ask when you arrive.
Visiting Eden Camp during winter?
We strongly advise that all visitors consider a visit to the museum as an outdoor activity and wear appropriate footwear and clothing during winter months. Whilst the majority of our exhibits are housed indoors, most of our exhibition huts are not heated. Wrap up and stay warm as you explore!
Exploring the Museum
Allow three to four hours to see every hut at a relaxed pace.
Every exhibition is indoors, so it works well on a wet day. You walk between huts in the open, so bring a coat and appropriate shoes.
Please note that Hut 5 recreates the Blitz as an immersive air raid experience, so it can be intense for young children or anyone sensitive to sound and light.
