Kevin Hollinrake, the Conservative candidate for the Thirsk & Malton constituency, joined local veterans, families, and community members at Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. The event took place on the 8 and 9 June and honoured the bravery and sacrifice of those who took part in the historic Normandy landings on June 6, 1944.

The commemorative event, held at Eden Camp, featured a series of poignant activities, including re-enactors, educational exhibits, and a minutes silence. During his visit, Mr. Hollinrake took the opportunity to speak with visitors and re-enactors. His presence at the event highlights his ongoing dedication to honouring the legacy of the armed forces and ensuring that their contributions are never forgotten.

Kevin Hollinrake said, “This event serves as a powerful reminder of the courage and dedication of those who fought for our freedom. It is crucial that we continue to remember and honour their sacrifices.”

Eden Camp, known for its immersive World War II exhibits, provided a fitting backdrop for the anniversary event and is dedicated to preserving history and educating future generations.
