May Half Term Family Fun at Eden Camp!

Step back in time this May Half Term and explore the sights, sounds and smells of a time gone by! You and your family will journey back in time to explore what life was like on both the Home Front and Front Line during the Second World War.

Explore the 22 original POW huts and discover personal tributes and unique stories through immersive displays covering various aspects such as The Blitz, the Street at War (with rationing and fashions), the Home Guard, Evacuation, the Battle of Britain, and VE & VJ Day.

We have our traditional war games dotted around the museum all week, and talks with members of the team inside our Heritage Hall!

Book your tickets here!

Family Friendly Educational Workshops

Join the fun with our free, family-friendly educational workshops happening throughout the school Holidays! Dive into exciting activities together and make learning a blast for everyone.

Arts and Crafts – Peg Planes: Saturday 25 May, 1pm-2pm

Join us in our Eden Camp Arts & Crafts workshop and create your very own Peg Plane to take home!

Make your own peg plane from scratch and decorate it to your hearts content. Once the paint is dry, your peg plane is ready to fly (or display)! You can hold onto the wooden peg and fly it around like an airplane, or you can even turn it into a fridge magnet! Its fun for all the family and a great way to get creative and have fun with woodworking whilst learning all about Eden Camp!

Slime Workshop: Wednesday 29 May, 1pm-2pm

Get hands on and make your very own soldier slime here at Eden Camp this May half term.

WW1 Cooking: Thursday 30 May, 1pm-2pm

Join in the cooking fun and make your own tack biscuits!

Soldiers from WW1 relied on tack biscuits during trench warfare as they lasted a long time without going off but that didn’t mean they were nice to eat!

See what you think, maybe some Bovril will help?

Willow Weaving Workshops – Friday 31 May, various times, £6.50 per child

11am, 11.30am, 1pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm & 3.30pm

Discover the ancient art of willow crafting with Janice Burley from Down to Earth! In these hands-on workshops, children can create their own willow fish to take home. Each 20-30 minute session costs £6.50 per child, with a maximum of 5 children per workshop. Secure your spot by pre-booking here.
