Step back in time this summer and experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the First World War.
Join us on 11th and 12th July for a powerful and immersive WWI Reenactment Weekend, where history comes to life across the museum grounds. Witness living history displays, period uniforms, and demonstrations of wartime life on the front line.
🎖️ What to expect:
- Authentic WWI reenactors and encampments : Groups participating include
- The Hull Rifles
- The 1914-21 Society
- The Matlock Pals
- Family-friendly activities and educational talks
- ‘The Baby Killers’ a film documentary about the German naval raid on Scarborough, Whitby & Hartlepool in December 1914
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will also be in attendance and will be able to provide advice about tracing family members that may have lost their lives in World War One
