About Eden Camp: POW Camp 83
Built in 1942 on farmland outside Malton, Eden Camp began life as a prisoner of war camp, first housing Italian captives and later German prisoners, with space for up to 1,200 people. Today, Eden Camp is a museum with a difference: historical, educational and exciting, with something for everyone regardless of age or interest. The site is largely accessible, offers free on-site car and coach parking, is dog friendly, and visitors should allow at least three to four hours for an average visit.
