Step back in time and immerse yourself in history at Eden Camp, where the past comes alive with reenactors around every corner at our Living History Weekend. From captivating displays to engaging talks and activities galore, there’s something for every member of the family to enjoy. Watch history unfold as soldiers, civilians and medics recreate life during wartime in an original Second World War prisoner of war camp, where authentic wartime buildings provide the perfect backdrop for immersive reenactment.

Speak directly with knowledgeable reenactors, discover authentic equipment and hear the real stories behind everyday life during WWII. Perhaps you’re keen to explore the intricate details of a Sherman Tank, including its escape hatch? Do I need to pre-book?

No, but we strongly recommend booking in advance. Not only do you guarantee your access to the event you also get the tickets at the best price possible.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, children love this event. However, just to pre-warn you there can be loud bangs during the gun firing demonstrations, but there is plenty of space on site for you to avoid the loud noises.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes dogs are welcome, but site can get very busy and sometimes overwhelming especially during the gun firing demonstrations.

Can I wear 1940s clothing?

All visitors to the museum are invited to join in with the fun and get dressed up in either civilian or military period clothing. All weapons (including but not limited to deactivated rifles, blank firing weapons, knives, bayonets) are NOT permitted on site. Costume must be respectful and SS/Gestapo uniform (or similar) is strictly prohibited. We respectfully request in light of current events for visitors/reenactors to avoid Russian attire/equipment of any kind. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Is Parking Free?

Yes, parking to this event is free.
